Basic Guide to Essay Writing

Essay is something that can be written by anyone but at the same time one needs to know the purpose of writing an essay. You need to be aware of the fact that whether your purpose is to get high grades at school or just to enjoy the process of writing and improve your writing skills, your main aim should be to write the essay in such a way that it is understood by everyone. Essays are classified into various categories like five-paragraph essay, admission essay, classification essay, critical essay, literature essay, scholarship essay, personal essay, argumentative essay and informal essay.

If we take in consideration the very first type of 5-paragraph essay, then it should be kept in mind that first paragraph should be the introductory one and attractive because this is a place where the writer has a chance to grab the reader’s attention. The introductory paragraph should be aligned in such a way that it gives a brief description of what the essay is actually about. Now, beginning with the first paragraph which is the strongest element and plays an important part of all, this paragraph should contain all the essential points and necessary statements. The other paragraphs should also maintain a proper description so that it remains as attractive as the introductory paragraph.

Another most important part to be considered while you write an essay is the conclusion section. The concluding statements should be in such a way that they give a complete summary of the essay written. Writing is actually hard when you actually jot down the points in black and white because it requires research, creative thinking and clear language with a proper discipline. In addition, it also demands hard work, understanding and thinking ability. To write an essay, you must be well versed with the topic assigned and so it is important to clearly understand the assigned topic for the essay. Keywords play an essential role in essay writing as well. You have to take good care of the keywords in the essay and think how to relate them with the reading/writing sentences. Normally, before beginning with these things, you should completely organize your research material and thoughts, and then accumulate them intelligently into an essay. You can even start by highlighting key points or making notes of few points that are necessary to be included in the piece.

Moreover, it is also a best way to start with an essay is by going through some examples. This can be probably done when you are confused on how to begin with the essay and what kind of material to use in it. In such a case, you can literally read other essays to help understand how to organize and present the material and necessary information in your essay. The best way to approach is by giving main concentration on the introduction and conclusion. Moreover, you should also consider the style of writing and material that you are using in the essay. The pattern and style that you start with should be maintained till the very end of the essay so that the flow is maintained. If such tips are kept in mind, you can surely produce a great piece of essay on even the toughest of topics.
